Add your own assets - v1.0 is out
Okay, this are exciting news for the project. Now one can add their own items to the mix, pushing the customization even further. Anything - except new body shapes - can be added: hats, belts, pants, haircuts, you name it. There is a text file included shortly explaining how to add your assets to the library.
Quick Guide
-> For adding new assets one must be familiar with the folder structure since that for an error free usage you must create not only a few copies of the same asset as well as some variations;
-> Let us use a new hat as a use case for further explaining how addition works. Open one of the hair files under assets>charsets>6f>hat and use it as a base to create your new hat. For now the file dimensions are restricted to the size of the existing assets. You can save the file as a .png with any name you wish, but for this example we will call it new_hat.png. The files under the 6f folder are meant for characters with 6 frames of animation looped through, no back and forth;
-> Now you must creat another version for this hat under assets>charsets>3f>hat. The files under the 3f folder are meant for characters with just 3 frames of animation, played back like on RPGMaker, 1-2-3-2-1. You can use another hat as a base to get all the frames on the right position. Remember that the file on this folder must match the name of the file on the 6f file structure, meaning this one should be named new_hat.png as well;
-> The longest part is making all the variations for all the skins and shape types since different skins might need a different fit - for instance, cat ears might need to poke a hole through a hat or one particular shape is slightly thinner than the other requiring slimmier fits. For every skin folder under every shape folder you will need to make another new_hat.png on every hats folder. Use any other hat fit for a particular skin/shape as a base for your new hat;
-> In total, for adding this new hat from the example, you will need to create 16 new files named new_hat.png. Some of those files will be exact copies of each other - for instance, the same shape might have the same fit on almost all skins, requiring editing just on a few skins such as catfolk skins - as some others will be completely new files;
This update also turns both the Char and Faceset Workshop redundant for those with the Hero Printer already since one now has access to all the pieces by themselves.
