Tiny RPG - Char Workshop I
A downloadable asset pack
Disclaimer: Since this pack is under CC4 you can use it for any end, but I would kindly ask anyone downloading this pack to refrain from using any of those resources to either feed LLM/AI models or to pull some cryptoshenanigans. Thank you.
Is your RPG project in dire need of literal billions of colourful characters? Look no further, the Char Workshop is here to tend to your needs!
In the Workshop one will find all that is necessary to build a plethora of RPG characters, from head to toes:
- 48x48 sprites;
- 5 base bodies to build upon;
- 4 directional animations;
- 6 frames loop version and 3 frames back and forth version;
- 3 frames version compatible with RPGMaker;
- Helmets, hats, crowns, capes, backpacks, shields, armour, tails, wings and much more;
- Literal billions of possible combinations;
- All components fully animated;
*While most of the content can just be slapped over the characters, one must bear in mind that layer order changes accordingly to the direction that the character is facing. That is, back and some shoulder components might be placed on the top-most layer when the character back is facing the camera. Some light editing might be needed to make sure that everything is properly connected, such as clothing pieces going under the belt and haircuts going under the hats and helmets.
Are you in a rush and need some characters ready to go? No problem! The pack includes 40 colourful use ready characters, from fighters to mages and villagers.
*All characters include a 6 frames version and a 3 frames version, the later compatible with RPGMaker. There is also an outlined version and no outline version, for both animation legths.
This pack will see quite a few updates, from new body types and clothing items to final fantasy-esque little animations, such as crouching, laughing, waving and so on. Stay tuned for more!
Don't forget to rate this asset pack, it keeps morale high and makes sure that more packs will come sooner than later.

Love your assets, thanks for your hard work, are there any plans to add idle and simple attack animations?
Glad you liked it!
If you are looking for combat specific sprites - and combat only - take a look at the Battle Kit 1. https://tiopalada.itch.io/tiny-rpg-battle-kit-1
Sprites there are bigger with lots of combat oriented animations and shall see an update soon. However the Battle Kit covers just a few key characters instead of being a paper-doll system. Given time I will add more characters to the roster, but won’t be focused on allowing creating millions of combinations.
As for the char workshop I will certainly add some custom animations, maybe some basic attack for ARPGS, but I cannot say for sure.
Many thanks
You are welcome, mate! Let me know if the Battle Kit I cover your needs and/or if you have any suggestions. Right now I am doing a pack of portraits/facesets in the same fashion as the Char Wokshop, allowing the creation of many faces.
Battle Kit is great and I love it, but I really need a paper doll system with simple attack animations in my game.
I see! Well, I can’t promise it will happen, but as I said, I might add a few basic attack animations to the Char Workshop. That or get a paper doll system on Battle Kit, albeit it will be consistently smaller.
this is insane
They told me it was impossible, they called me mad!
But yeah, I might have went overboard lol still have a couple of things I want to add tho, such as children and heavier frames.
You have no idea how happy I was when I saw the notification of your new asset! Amazing work as always! Love your art style!
Thank you so much for your continued support, it means a lot to me! Hope I can figure out the Paypal situation, eventually :p
